New from flor

Flor carpet tiles are a superb option for both apartment dwellers and those lucky enough to have real houses. They can be layed down and picked up easily and most can be rinsed in the sink! I've always been a big fan, but now with these new patterns they are looking better than ever! Available from www.flor.com.

Winner of best food blog post

This post from the Amateur Gourmet won an award for best food post at the Food Blog Awards hosted by the Well Fed Network. It is so funny, please check out the full version...it puts my blog to sad sad shame.

Find instructions here to make your own hooter hat. From craftster.org

Super brooch

What a snappy little brooch this is. Made with love and vintage plastic from Curiosity Shoppe.

Please don't steal this!

Can you imagine having a bike basket this handsome in NYC? It would last a total of 5 minutes out on the street before being swiped...nice stuff though.

P.D. Cute

I am not allowed any more "stuff" in my house or I would have bought these brass and ceramic birds yesterday at Tar-jay. They were tres cute for sure.

Target madness

I made the pilgrimage out to Target last night and today will be spent recalling all the great stuff I found that was too heavy to carry home. They have some really fantastic lamps right now in their Global Bazaar section, the teal shaded one in particular was a real stunner.

Unusually fascinated by vinegar

I'm not sure if this will appeal to everyone here, but this article from chow.com on vinegar strikes me as incredibly interesting. Did you know that white vinegar is made from grain alcohol i.e. Everclear? Did you also know that there are vinegars made from raisins, dates, coconut and even beer??? Neat stuff!

Sad news

The LA times is reporting the death of the inventor of instant noodles at the age of 96. See I knew that ramen was good for you!

Nice sack!

Auto is one of my favorite stores out here in NYC, they carry some really great jewelry and home decor pieces. Every now and again they've got a super looking bag like the one shown above by a local Brooklyn designer. It aint cheap, but it's chic!
P.S.
I think this shape (the deep north south pouch) will be my prediction for cool shape of the season...at least for me!

Funny ha ha

Wii madness has hit our home, we LOVE LOVE LOVE our Nintendo Wii.
Chris (my Wii nemesis) passed along this humorous take on how to win at Wii tennis at any cost and he had better not try any of these moves at my house!

Bacon whaaaaa????

Please, I beg of you...someone has got to make this recipe for bacon brittle. Is there a more perfect sounding foodstuff on this earth? Imagine it broken up into vanilla ice cream. Blaargh (that's the sound of me drooling).

Take my card

Ooh, look at these nifty fill in the blank business cards created by Sarah from www.thesmallobject.com. She has such nifty ideas and she has graciously posted a free PDF file so you can print these cards and other exciting items here. Be sure to check out the thumb war championship belts!

Art on a budget

My favorite style blog Design*Sponge has a great piece today about inexpensive art with a cause. Check out her article and bop on over to pretty:darn:swell to see for yourself. Very cool stuff, and at $20 you can't go wrong!

How to make a diorama

My sick person project for today

Worth the calories

Amy Sedaris is a mega-genius.
Owning anything wrought by her hand would be the holy grail for any fan of Amy and her new book "I Like You, Hospitality Under the Influence".
Now all you Amy-philes have a chance to own just such a piece. Over at Fred Flare they are selling four of her one of a kind styrofoam fake cakes. They are all signed by Amy and will surely be a hit at parties. Run, don't walk!

Grrrrr

Alright, I need these too darned if they aren't also from Anthropologie.

Fab-u-lous

Laying here looking at catalogs and surfing the internet is dangerous stuff...just look what I already found that I must own. These shoes are by my absolute favorite shoe maker Chie Mahara and are for sale at my most favorite store Anthropologie!

Yes!

Thank you oh joy for posting these fabulous photos of the new Go International designs for Target that are coming out in February. I am saving all the $9.99's I can till then!

I am sick.

Sorry for the lack of posts as of late. I have been sick for a couple of weeks with Bronchitis and haven't felt up to writing much.
I hope that you'll check back in with me in a few days...I hope to be up and writing very soon!
