Handy bag

Thank you Etsy, I am always able to find something unique and fun there. Check out this tree painted handbag and tell me it is something I do not need...it's so Orla Kiely-esque. Love it.

Rafe for Target

Hey, here's some good news! Rafe has put out a new line of lovely and cheap handbags for my absolute favorite retailer, Target. I have not gotten to see them in person, but if the Fall collection for Target is any indicator, these are going to be great. Hurry, I almost had to wrestle someone last season to get my hands on one!

Drool! Look at these great bags from Orla Kiely I discovered this morning...dandelion print tote and matching shoulder bag. Don't forget that super cute clutch too!

Woe is the bag hag

Check out this article from the Chicago version of Apartment Therapy for excellent ideas for storing handbags. Of special note is the advice to NEVER HANG A BAG BY IT'S HANDLES which apparently causes undue strain on the leather and the construction of the bag. Thanks for the advice, I guess my strategy of just strewing my collection of bags across my bedroom floor was the right one after all!

Handbags from heaven

Agnes and Hoss bags are totally going to make me break the budget this month. I love every single one, and let me tell you they are even better in person. Can you imagine? I feel faint!

Bag attack

Design Sponge turned me on to these neat-o patterned bags from Hau Hauz of Finland. As I am sure you have noticed by now I am a major pattern junkie, and these are exactly what I look for in a bag...easy fabric (linen), neutral colors, big bold pattern, great shape...perfect!

Finalmente!

Gosh, it took long enough for Rafe.com to come out with their Spring preview. I've been checking every day to be sure I was the first to give you the good news. There are definitely some cute pieces to be had like the Brooke Tote shown above. The prices are still a little on the high side for me, but one has to wonder if he will do another collaboration with Target again this year...anyone have the scoop?

Bag lady fever

I haven't yet seen this bag in person, but it has the prerequisite shape for a spring bag and a graphic pattern. Gotta love it!

Yea! Boo.

Today I am off for work for MLK Jr's birthday...yea!
I had a great breakfast at 7A and headed out to shop with my bud Aaron. It was all going so well until we happened upon our favorite bag store, Jack Gomme, and discovered it is going out of business! Boo!
If you happen to be in NYC head on over to their shop at 252 Elizabeth street where everything is 30-70% off until they run out of goodies. Yea and Boo at the same time!!!
Fans of Jack Gomme will have to make do with buying their fabulous bags at Takashimaya and Big Bag. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Nice sack!

Auto is one of my favorite stores out here in NYC, they carry some really great jewelry and home decor pieces. Every now and again they've got a super looking bag like the one shown above by a local Brooklyn designer. It aint cheap, but it's chic!
P.S.
I think this shape (the deep north south pouch) will be my prediction for cool shape of the season...at least for me!

A bag I must own

I stopped into Cursive (the store just inside the doors to ABC carpet here in NYC) and found these terrific plasticized clutches made by Lisa Stickley. Although it is difficult to tell from the photo, when closed this bag has a very refined and ladylike structured shape. I love the contrast of the constuction vs. the plastic material...tres chic! Anyone in NYC must check out Cursive, you will not be sorry! If you are from a foreign land don't dismay, I will be posting plenty of pieces on them.
